Is this in the same building as when I walked in 2019? It was a good place to stay.

Yes, it's the same building. The bar adjacent to it will be managed by the same person. Apparently, it is the person who currently has the license to run the municipal pool, so people are very optimistic that it will be run well. It's a great albergue.

I just saw this on the facebook group:

APERTURA DEL ALBERGUE DE LA ROBLA. Este lunes día 24 de Abril abre sus puertas el albergue. Laura será Su nueva hospitalera. Una gran noticia para este camino. La comunidad peregrina te desea mucha suerte Laura, el teléfono de contacto es: 682 541 836

Looks like it opens today!

I’m in Leon and seriously considering leaving the Frances and jumping on the Salvador. Maybe I’ll see them tomorrow!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Definitely open! Stayed there a few days ago. 8 bunks. Big kitchen. Microwave. The location in a park is fab. Later in the season there is a bar right there in the park. Laura the hospitalera comes in the evening for registering. And probably not of interest to those on the Salvador, but for those on the Olvidado there is excellent coffee in the croissanteria, which is open early!

thanks for the reassuring news and info on registration. makes the unknown a little less unnerving (been walking a few caminos the past few weeks and it's hard to have an idea of bed availability on different routes)

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
