Hi @cwalden,
If you enter “Sarria” into the search function at the top of this screen you’ll likely find all you ever wanted to know and more from those who have begun there and those who have walked through there toward the end of their various Camino routes.
Happy planning!

All the best
Paul

"I couldn't find anything." What search term(s) did you use? You could also look for blogs written by people who have walked from further from Santiago than Sarria. You just need to read the last few entries. If you are leaving from Sarria, you should be looking for the Camino Francés. The "Camino de Santiago" can refer to any one of a dozen routes to Santiago de Compostela, some of which pass through Sarria, but many don't.

Hi @cwalden I loved "The last 100 km of the French Way" from Sarria to Santiago. This route is a nice and easy walk over Galicia's green countryside. It normally takes around 5 days (12/15 ml each day). It really depends on how much you are able to walk in a day and be comfortable. You can use Forwalk webpage to get all the information on the different stages, distance, walking time, maps, travel tips, a list of accommodations and links to booking .com for bookable hotels and hostel.I hope it works for you. Buen camino! https://app.forwalk.org/2/1/en-us/10/

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

What is it you'd like to know? In July this stretch will be quite crowded.

We walked it last summer in late June. I am taking a group of students in a few weeks to walk it again over the holidays. It is a well- supported stretch of the Camino with lots of quaint little villages. Some interesting sites to see along the way, too. Here is our thread from last summer.

I guess that's part of it. What's it like in July? That's the only time I can go.

Thanks. Do you recommend a journal also to record your Camino experience?

Any Camino is an awesome Camino when you can go. I think it depends on what kind of pilgrim you plan to be. Will you carry your own pack and just walk, stopping when you want? Are you planning to stay in hotels? Albergues? For me, I usually like to carry my pack and stop when I feel like it. I prefer not to reserve ahead or have my bag shipped, but can do that if there is a need. I like to stay in albergues and in places that don't always take reservations.

In July there will be large groups of school children walking this stretch and lots of people on holiday. There will be lots of people leaving from the "stage" towns each morning. I walk shorter stages and don't always stay in the main "stage" towns.

In July, many people will be trying to reach Santiago by July 25 for the St James day holiday and celebration. I recommend booking a place in SANTIAGO if you plan to arrive near this date.

Many people book all their lodging and ship their bags daily. This is certainly possible quite easily on this part of the route, too.

However you do your Camino it will be an unforgettable experience. I usually document on the forum with a "Live from the Camino" post daily. I carry a small notepad to keep track of notes and expenses.

Edited to correct date of St James Day. Thanks @Bert45

From the title of the thread, I got the impression that perhaps @cwalden is planning to use the agency called Follow the Camino.
