SCAM?.....WHAT SCAM?

My curiosity was piqued too! 😁
I didn’t find much information but was amused by the old proprietor’s passive-aggressive responses to bad reviews on booking.com. Sounds like an all-round charmer.

SCAM?.....WHAT SCAM?
I booked on line in 2018, paid full amount, received a confirmation only to find out they were ‘closed for renovations’. I couldn’t get a refund.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Yes, good point. The most annoying aspect was being told that it was my fault as there was a message on their web page about a closure. I missed that, but they still accepted the money and provided written confirmation from me and others.

That's a scam!
Sad to hear. Operationally the place appears to have collapsed after Danielle the super efficient long-term hospitalero left.
I had several good stays there.
Regards
Gerard

It turned out well ... we got to stay across at Beilari. The Camino delivered.

staying there in late April ´17, one fellow traveler had a problem of having paid, but got no bunk....
I think she got a floor space ....
I only booked in SJPdP and Roncesvalles, but usually do not book in advance....

I booked it for two nights in September. I hope I don't have any problems as I'll be travelling a long way to get there.

We are coincidentally spending a night there tonight. It is spic and span as a new pin, and the new owners are very hospitable and friendly. Our only complaint was the increased cost , we paid €65 for a spartan room, and lukewarm showers. It is the most we have paid for a twin room on any Camino that we have walked.
