Does anyone know of a walking path from Lausanne, Switzerland to Wiesbaden, Germany? If there is not a path, can it be done without encountering too many roads? Thank you,

1) Take the boat or train from Lausanne to Geneva. There is a lakeside route, but see the report from Brigitta several years ago about its various unpleasantnesses
2) From Geneva, take the GR5 northbound https://www.gr-infos.com/gr5.htm
3) Near Luxembourg, look for a connector to Metz (possibly a road walk, check local TO)
4) From Metz, take the Metz-Trier-Cologne route as far as Trier https://www.jakobswege-europa.de/wege/koeln-metz.htm
5) From Trier, fork off to the Fulda route into Wiesbaden https://www.jakobswege-europa.de/wege/fulda-mainz.htm

Hi, Thanks for the information. Is this a route that you have walked yourself? Is it a scenic route and if i could ask you...how are the accommodations? Thank you

Last month, we walked for awhile starting in Le Puy with a petite young lady carrying a large backpack with her tent and gear who had started in Geneva. We were gasping in the unexpected heat, but could not have any sympathy for ourselves when we saw how plucky this Swiss lass was. She described her route from Geneva, saying she used the following day by day blog posted on Ivar a year ago. Bon chemin!

You are referring here to the GR 65 route which runs southwest from Geneva. Since OP is heading north, it’s a different route.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Sadly, I haven’t (yet, anyhow). But I’ve been in that part of Germany. It is scenic, as you are in Jura foothills and crossing the Vosges mountains. For the section in France, the FFGR guidebook for GR5 route will have accommodations info. For the sections in Germany, use the yellow guidebooks from Conrad-Stein-Verlag.

I learned during my 6 day hike on ViaJacobi4, in Switzerland that 2 somewhat reasonable sleep options for those not wildcamping are Monestaries and 'sleep in straw' @ farmgates. Just saying; cost of living in Switzerland is steep!
