A word of warning: I was in Lisbon in late September last year, and temperatures were in excess of 30 degrees Celsius. I recommend taking enough water and perhaps a UV-blocking hiking umbrella.

Am planning Lisbon early September. From USA. 83 yrs

enerol,

How wonderful! May this year's camino be as wonder-filled as your earlier one.

Happy planning and Bom caminho!

Thanks, Rob. I think this is why I haven't been able to settle on a starting date. I hate hot weather, yet I'm also concerned about cold weather once in Spain.

Hi Denise. My wife and I are considering the Portuguese in September. Don't know when ...may be mid to late September to avoid any chance of hot weather. BTW, we live in Sacramento. Will know more later. Take care!

Couldn't find the answer to this question elsewhere. What is the weather like in September on the Lisbon to Santiago journey? Is this the best time of the year to be doing this pilgrimage? Thanks much!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

I've been in Lisbon for work for two different months of September, and my memory is that the really hot weather is over and the rain is not yet likely to have started. I walked from Lisbon in April and it was a great time of year. Buen camino, Laurie

Thanks Laurie. Looks like it will have to be September for us. April is too soon after our Le Puy and we are thinking late September to avoid the heat, However, your point of rain is an important consideration. Maybe September 15 is a compromise! :) Thanks again.

Yes, let's keep in touch. I'll be 62yrs.
Denise, I have booked my flight and will be departing Lisbon, September 6, allowing 35 days to Santiago.

Hi all, this will be our last night on the trail and we would like to stay somewhere with a good atmosphere and perhaps a shared dinner. Any recommendations? Thanks all!!
