Less Expensive Travel Alternative From US

Travelers from the US can often save with significantly lower airfares while not incurring excessive inconveniences by traveling through Dublin, Ireland. Usually not considered, it may seem counterintuative and more time consuming, but it's not. There are many direct flights to Dublin from various US cities. These are almost always among the lowest of fares to any European destination.

A transfer from Dublin on Ryanair can carry you to Biarritz, France for a start of the Camino in SJPP. Upon the completion of the Camino in Santiago getting back to Dublin for the return flight to the US may be a bit more restrictive but can generally be accomplished with a bit of flexibility. And if you have any time to spare, Ireland is a nice place to spend some of it to unwind. Regardless, it is worth considering it in that this itinerary could save hundereds of dollars on overall flights at virtually any time of year. Moreover it is often an easier route to and from the Camino.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Or why not Aer Lingus - an airline and a flag carrier of Ireland. For a while ago it was possible to purchase one- way tickets. So it is possible to get to your starting point and after your camino get back from Santiago to Dublin.

Oh yeah, Aer Lingus is a viable option. In fact it may be very convenient in making ongoing connections to and from the US.

I mention Ryanair in getting to the Camino because their fares tend to be lower than most. On the return, Aer Lingus only serves the Santiago to Dublin routes at limited times of the year, something like May through October and then only on selected days of the week. Thus my comment suggesting one have flexibility. I don't think Ryanair flies directly from Santiago to Dublin at all.

Point remains, although not obvious, routing through Dublin may be beneficial.

This actually can be a great option and there's so much to see in Ireland, why not make it a rest stop, and continue to Spain the following week!
