LIVE from the Camino Many available beds in Villafranca

I left Astorga four days ago and was in Villafranca last night. Stayed in the very first Albergue to the left just before the Castle. Friendly staff and many beds not taken last night. Tomorrow, I start the steep climb to El Cereibro. Buen Camino.

My son is about 50k from Santiago and the albergue he was in today had tons of empty beds. Very weird. After sarria it was more quiet.
