Walked May 14, 2014 from St Jean France

starting to walk again August 25, 2016 --SJPDP to Finisterre
Several German women told us about a French movie about the Camino. They said it is a comedy about ten years old. Story is about a guy dying who has acWill that requires his children to walk the Camino. One woman said the title is French for Beginners. The other woman said the title is Pilgrims Walking. Both said the movie is very good. Can not find anything on web. Anyone know what movie they are talking about?

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Frances, autumn/winter; 2004, 2005-2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
Saint-Jacques ...La Mecque is both a French novel by Coline Serreau published 2005 by Flammarion and a later movie. You can buy the book and the movie version on Amazon. Basically this is the story of four adult siblings, three men and one woman, who do not get along and who must walk the Le Puy camino in order to receive their inheritance. Additionally it is a story of whom they meet on their journey and how everyone changes along the way.

You will enjoy their journey,

Margaret Meredith

There are some fragments available in youtube -look for them by the name in French. It was renamed "Peregrinos" in Spanish.
I recognized some places, as Le Puy, Moissac, Saint Jean Pied de Port, Roncesvalles, Canal de Castilla, CarriĂłn, the "bar Cowboy", Cruz de Ferro, Monte do Gozo, and obviously Santiago. Tomas de ManjarĂn makes a very short cameo. The director evidently had firsthand experience or a good advisor, because some scenes sound authentic (as new pilgrims throwing away shampoos, creams, etc., after a few days of walking... :)
I enjoyed it.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Another atmospheric and fantastic camino movie is Luis Bunuel's famous (and infamous) 1969 film The Milky Way/La Voie Lactée which depicts two French pilgrims walking back through historic time along the camino.

Twice walked from St Jean to Estella and once from Sarria to Santiago. Maybe someday I'll find the time to do the entire walk.
I've found the time. Just completed SJPP to Santiago. 25 Aug to 1st Oct, 2016.
And now the Portuguese from Lisbon.
I'm reminded of an old British comedy film, Laughter in Paradise, where people have to do things totally out of character to gain an inheritance.
