Hi all,

I am Tim from the Netherlands. I started my first camino on August 29th on a snap decision and totally unprepared. I carried a cheap 5 kg backpack (half of it being drawing material). I walked the whole way from SJPdP to Santiago on a pair of Earth Runners and a pair of Xeroshoes Venture Sandals. The landscape was overwhelming especially the Meseta. I met a lot of people and heard a lot of different stories. It was one of the most beautiful and fantastic experiences of my life. I finsihed the Camino on October 3rd and am still in post-camino mode ;)

I too am a Meseta lover! Welcome to a very happy club.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Team Sailor [my wife and me] was "saved" by La Meseta. Our best stage was a short one, from Burgos to Rabe de las Calzadas. We received la bendiciĂłn de peregrino from one of the sisters at the Convento de Hijas de la Caridad la Milagrosa in Rabe de la Calzada. I had a private conversation with the sister for a couple of minutes when I went there to get a sello. I am not a religious person but I asked her for a blessing. I broke down when I was touched and blessed by this angel. At that point la luz de Dios alumbro mi camino -- things were totally different from that point on. Thanks for reading, y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Totally agree about the Meseta. It felt so much like the wheatbelts of Australia. Not boring, and something that shouldn't be missed. I feel sorry for those that feared and avoided that section. Then you reach Galacia and think of home when you see and smell the eucalyptus trees. But our favourite were the ancient oaks and chestnut groves. All the Frances is magic:)
