Dear Spouse is at the municipale in Larrasoana tonight, sleeping in the converted barn (having the full camino experience). He has no wifi and no tarjeta until tomorrow when he gets to Pamplona. The intention is to grab the tarjeta and boot on through to Cizur Menor, but he's looking for recommendations. I think the Maribel de Roncal Albergue looks nice (clean, comfortable, restful) but I'd like input. I will send input to him on recommendations and he will get it in the morning when he finds wifi.
On my trip through CM I'd been roped into a booking made on behalf of 6 people who had not agreed that we were even going on together and so got plopped into a hotel I did not want to be in, at a price I did not want to pay... and it made for some tight days after that for me. I skipped 2 dinners... (complicated story, but the upshot is that I don't have a good recommendation for Dear Spouse).

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I understand he's your spouse but are you his travel agent also?

I know you're trying to help but there's either you book something for him or just give him info what he could expect in 5/10/15/20 kms.

He asked me for help. No need to be snippy. I know that his experience tonight will do him in and he is asking so that he does not have a repeat sleepless night tomorrow.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Maribel is one of the Camino's treasures. Her albergue is well-placed for the Alto de Person climb.

Thank you! Dear Souse has sent me a little photo of the garden where he has just landed, very happily.

In the wicked heat, that garden will be a blessing.

And he managed his tarjeta as well, and arrived before 2pm, so before the worst heat.

Thanks everyone.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
