Hi guys, need a bit of advice! I am landing in Santiago next thurs at 3.30pm. My starting point is Ponferrada. The next bus to Ponferrada from Santiago is at 9ish and I won't get to Ponferrada until 1.30 am! My dilemma is should I bus it to Ponferrada and arrive at 1.30am so I can still set out early on the Friday morning, OR stay in Santiago and bus it the next morning and start walking fairly late?

Thanks guys

I'd stay the night in Santiago. If you arrive that late at night you'll see nothing of Ponferrada and then you walk away from it early in the morning ... Better to arrive by bus the next day, see the scenery from the bus, have lunch in Ponferrada, probably catch up with a few peregrinos, and then maybe do a short walk that day. You are supposed to enjoy your Camino, not race around :D

Buen Camino whatever you decide!

Sounds like a good idea Nidarosa. Thanks for your input. I kinda got up in a heap on planning instead of just breathing :) Had a wee fiddle around with the route planner so I could start with a short walk on my first day. The stops I have decided on are:
Cacabelos
Trabadelo
O Cebreiro
Tricastela
Sarria
Portomarin
Palas de Rei
Boente
Santa Irene
and on to Santiago
I think this seems a comfortable pace to go. Has anyone stayed at any of these spots and found trouble with somewhere to stay?
