I've checked this Albergue last week. It's nice and comfy. I didn't stayed there because I had already unpacked everything on the Public one (which works in donation method), and I didn't wanted to spend 15€ for one night.

Also, it has a salamander heating system, which is a killer for my lung problems.

But hey, 15€ includes breakfast, soup and a nice comfy place. If I didn't have money counted, I would go for it.

Best Regards
Diogo

Hi Diogo,

how you find the offical aubergue? last month it was very dirty and full of mouldiness, did they cleaned up?

Buen camino

Olaf

When we got there, they were still finishing cleaning it. You know, that's the problem with the Albergues that work with donation method. I left there the 6€ that an Albergue costs in Galicia, but I've seen people staying in there without paying a cent! The Albergue has to be clean, has water, electricity and heating to pay, and sometimes, pilgrims don't understand that.

That, and leave everything clean for the next ones.

Because of this kind of mentality, the "It's ok, we can cover this with trash, that the Hospitaleiros will clean", the guy's from the Xunta want to remove kitchens (ceramic and normal stoves, dishes, spoons, knives, forks, casseroles, etc, etc) from Albergues, and put only microwaves to work.

Let's see what will happen.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Thanx for your fast repley Diogo,

that time i was there, there was no trash. The probleme was the heavy mouldiness cause of the long wet winter. To stay there was horrible cause of the mould. Did they refurbish it?

kind regards
Olaf

Olaf, I'm a guy with lung problems, and I can't even be a cm near mold. I didn't have any respiratory problem that night. They where dehumidifying everything, and mattresses where cleaned with steam machines.

We stayed at the new albergue Ninho a few days ago. It was very clean and very nice. It was a little cold since it is heated with a wood fireplace and we let it go out in the night. However there were plenty of thick comforters and blankets so we slept well. Maria, the owners mother cooked is dinner for 5 euro each. She also served her homemade vino. There was plenty of hot water for the showers too.

How to find Ninho? Is it near the municipal? I am going to Rubiaes tomorrow.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
