Hello from Pamplona! Just wanted to alert everyone that a new albergue opened in Pamplona this past Saturday. Sponsored by the Diocese of Pamplona, it’s called Betania (Bethany) after the village near Jerusalem where Jesus found rest with Sts. Martha, Mary, and Lazarus.

It’s located on the square where the Camino exits the old city center to cross the Taconera Park. It’s on the third floor of a house that forms a part of the 17th century monastery complex occupied by the Augustinian Recollect Sisters.

The albergue, which presently has only 14 beds (space is being prepared for six more), is sponsored by the Diocese of Pamplona & Tudela. There is a communal dinner offered in the evening for those who wish to participate.

The albergue operates on the free-will donations offered by pilgrims to help defray the costs of electricity, gas, water, food, and other expenses. Your donation ensures that the pilgrims coming behind you will be able to receive the same hospitality.

This is an ongoing project! Further renovations and improvements are planned moving forward, but we will need your prayers and donations to make it happen! Most of all, our aim is to make this albergue an oasis of peace, prayer, and welcome for pilgrims on their way to Santiago, so even if you have lodging in another albergue or hotel in Pamplona, you are still welcome to drop by for a coffee with us! We would love to meet you!

God bless one and all, and we hope to see you in Betania soon!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Saw this in a HosVol newsletter. Are you staffing with HosVol volunteers?
Good morning. We may be at some point. I’m certain Fr. César González, who is heading up the project, has been in touch with them. At the moment, as things are getting underway, we are handling things with local volunteers.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Good afternoon. That is correct. As you can see, the web page was created last year and hasn’t been very active since. The priority has been getting the space renovated. The Instagram account has been considerably more active. You can find us there: https://instagram.com/betania_en_camino?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
