Ponferrada: Albergue Guiana was really nice. Breakfast was worth it. Santalla del Bierzo: bar on the highway is closed permanently. Las Medulas: Casa Socorro is across from the church. Not signed but there is a sign on the fence that says they have rooms. Bar Mar continues to be a highlight in Sobradelo. Turn to go on camino is to the right of the bar as you face it. Montefurado: there is a fountain on the side of a private house about half way through town. There is a bench there to rest. A much needed water stop. Quiroga: Albergue posts the phone numbers on the door. Could not use the washer or dryer but they have racks for drying. Microwave available. A Pobra de Brollón: turn left at the round about to find As Viñas which was really nice. Turn right to go through town. Castrotañe: Penelope's place was delightful but the walk from Monforte was all asphalt and hot. The first turn off to the left did not exist. The next left to Castrotañe is well marked. It goes right to Penelope's. There is a bench with the town name on it across from Penelope's. Chantada: Hostel Yoel was friendly and clean but beds needed to be updated. Rodeiro: Hospedaxe O Guerra on vacation end of September when we walked through. Hostal Carpeintieras was great. A Laxe: there were no services or bars open late morning when we walked through after staying in Lalín. Bandeira: Albergue was very nice with a good kitchen and groceries nearby. Outeiro: we had the lights stay on all night with no one to call for help. Next time I would stay in Ponte Ulla and have a longer day to Santiago. No food available. A nice kitchen without a single kitchen item in it. Stovetop was not working. Microwave available. Hope that helps.
