Hi - am heading out from Nova Scotia, Canada to begin the Camino St. Frances early November, 2013.
Presently in process of determining where is the best place to fly in and out....and when.

I think you will minimize time and money if you fly into Pamplona and return from Santiago de Compostela. In November there are no buses from Pamplona to SJPdP, so you will have to take a taxi (or just start from Pamplona). There are buses from Pamplona to Roncesvalles, so you can get that far with minimum expense (no bus service on Sunday).

I have now booked to and from Madrid, after reading lots of posts for this time of year. Now, the challenge is to get from Madrid to SJPP.... I think I may have been too hasty in my decision. The costs seem horrendous.
