Nice Albergue in SJPDP ?

Hey you, another question:

L’Esprit du Chemin is so highly recommended, but it closes from 25th of September.
As I only arrive on 27th of September, what would you recommend as the 2nd nicest Albergue in Saint Jean ?

regards from the Baltic Sea
Jürgen

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Knip:

The Albergue where you check in and get your passport has been remodeled and is a very nice place to stay. You will also have the opportunity to meet, perhaps share a meal, other Pilgrims you will be walking with to Santiago.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Knip:

Auberge de Pelerin is located at 55 rue de la Citadelle. It is the Municipal Auberge and is open year round. I am not sure if they take reservations but there should be room the end of September. It has been remodeled and is very nice. The Brierley guide says it has 24 beds but I believe that has been expanded in the remodeling. The room we stayed in had 16 beds. If by chance there is no room they will help you find a place.

Joe

Joe, the municipal albergue is at 55 Ru de la Citadelle but that is not the same one as Auberge du Pelerin which is a private albergue at 25 rue de la Citadelle. The latter is a fairly new albergue and charges almost twice what the municipal albergue charges.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Sorry about that. The municipal albergue is located at 55 rue de la Citadelle, not sure what the name is. Thanks Sil.

I recommend the Municipal albergue located at 55 rue de la Citadelle. Sorry for the confusion.

It is fully remodeled and eveyone there will be walking the Camino.

Hope that clears things up.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
You have to have a credencial to stay at private albergues so whether it is municipal, church or

private, people staying there will all be walking the Camino. Check the closing date of the municipal albergue.

Mostly true, but they set their own standards, so you will occasionally find yourself turned away from a place filled with tourigrinos. Many hotels and hostales give a big discount to pilgrims with a credential, so pull it out and ask. You may save some money. Tourist offices can tell you who is offering discounts.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
