No train from Madrid to Oviedo?

We are arriving in Madrid on May 5th. I went online today to purchase train tickets to Oviedo and it doesn't show any train service. Does that mean the trains are sold out? Or maybe some other problem? Can anyone recommend an alternate way to get to Oviedo? Is there a service where we could hire a driver? We are not too constrained by price.

I just looked at the Renfe site - it says all the trains are full - they do sell out fast.

The Alsa website site is showing buses.

May 5th is the Sunday following a mid-week May 1 national holiday, so many took the entire week off and are returning home. I bet if you can train to an intermediate point (Validolad?), hole up for the night, then continue on May 6 you'd find train options.

You can fly from Madrid to Ovd for a very competitive price. I flow today for. L50 but 7:30 am , I arrived at 6:00. No subway , same airport

I found a ride using the BlaBlaCar website. 54 euros for 2 people. Not bad and will give us a chance to meet a couple of Spaniards.
