No transport directly to o Porrino?

Time of past OR future Camino

I have been basing my travel plans from Santiago to O Porrino based on Rome 2 Rio as is often recommended, but today when i checked the Renfe and Alsa sites it appears that Rome2Rio was misleading me and there is nothing direct.

It appears I need to get to Vigo and then switch to local bus to O Porrino. Does that sound right to people? Or am I putting it on the websites wrong?

Thanks.

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
That sounds, or seems, quite correct. Bus or Train to Vigo; Bus, Train or Taxi to O Porrino.

Rome2rio was an excellent resource for many years. It is now owned by Omio which is a secondary seller. It will frequently only show routes for which it can sell you a ticket and, sadly, will not always sell you what you need. One of its current offerings will sell you a bus ticket to Redondella. Perhaps they figure that as a Pilgrim you'll be happy to walk from there...

Sounds right. There is a very large hill between Vigo and Porrino - been both ways. Have also taken a taxi from central Vigo to family who live a few kms from Porrino (about €30) to start from there.

Routes N-S are easy but E-W are the difficult ones there. You could also consider getting off at Rendondela as it's about the same distance to Porrino as Vigo - allowing for the geography.

Thanks for this update. I refer to it often and now I know why I see lately see some discrepancies sometimes. It is kind of upsetting but not surprising a company would subvert something to further their own profits.
