Holy Year from Pamplona 2010, SJPP 2011, Lisbon 2012, Le Puy 2013, Vezelay (partial watch this space!) 2014; 2015 Toulouse-Puenta la Reina (Arles)
Quite a few pilgrims enjoyed Real Madrid and Barca back in the Springtime well tonight there is Spain and Italy, on the 14th there is Spain and Ireland, and on the 18th Spain and Croatia. I don't go wild about football but I love watching the Spanish as they cheer on their side. For those who do not enjoy football, you have been warned!

Since St James was born and raised in Tiberias, might be HaPoel Kiryat Shmonah, another possibility is Maccabi Haifa, possibly Bitar Jerusalem, more likely HaPoel.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Its so difficult to find a quiet cafe, a bar, or a restaurant - there will always be a television, usually a rather large television often no sound and usually nobody watching at all. Tonight is different, full blast and all hopes up. 0-0 at half-time and everywhere they are talking vociferously what might have been, utilizing many hand gestures, and expressing great accrimination. I wish I was there!

St James is a Newcastle United fan, through and through, as our stadium is (and always will be) St James' Park. I suspect he also has sympathies for Exeter City, who also play at a (lesser) St James' Park, and Real Madrid, who play at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Buen Camino and howay the lads.

p.s. Since I walked the Camino our fortunes have improved dramatically, in case anyone doubted the information above.

Alas my dear tyrrek, St James is kindest to those down-trodden, weak, and poor - he must be a fan of Sunderland!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
No, St James was quite belligerent and would probably have fought against false prophecies including Black Cats etc.

Buen Camino!

And Simon Mignolet ( formerly from my fav belgian club ) the goalie from Sunderland as his most faithful disciple...

Or shall we also call in Saint Rita , the patron Saint of the Impossible ?

How many other people were given one of the little medals at the bar in (I think) Rabe de las Calzadas? It has an image of the Lady of Miracles (the village's patrona), and I attached it to my shell for the rest of the Camino. Maybe the entire England team should walk out from Burgos to get one.

Buen Camino!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Croatia 3 Ireland 1 maybe the Irish side should walk out of Burgos,

Surprisingly, St. James is not that into soccer. He is actually a supporter of the St. George Dragons Rugby League team. I know this through revelation, and through the Dragons' seemingly impossible achievement of eleven premierships in a row. That just doesn't happen.

Also, the year I walked the Chemin du Puy, indicated by red and white stripes, is the year the Dragons won their first premiership after a drought of some decades. 2010. Red and white stripes. I'm just saying.

If the English team need medals, surely they should be not of our Lady of Miracles, but of St. Jude? :)

Yes, lost causes. St Jude should also be my patron saint for many reasons. I'm sticking with St James because he knows me reasonably well by now. I was so annoyed when I got back from my Camino in April this year as my Dad almost immediately had a heart attack. I'd just prayed for my parents in the cathedral in Santiago after walking from Pamplona! What's that all about?! As it turned out it was quite good that the heart attack happened. The problem was sorted out, and future problems identified and prevented. So I'll stick with St James, Jesus, and Our Lady of Miracles for my (too rare) prayer sessions.

Buen Camino!
