Sept 16/ 2016. Leon to Santiago . Sept/2019 SJPDP to Santiago.
My wife and I started our camino in Leon on 16th Sept 2016 , here are just a few of the wonderful things that happened to us. I walk with pacemaker/defibralator/and heart restructer machine implanted in my chest, but would you belive it was my hip that gave out, we were in a little village called Santibanez de Valdeilesia their was only one Albergue open it was 8.oo.am) my wife asked the server in the albergue if we could stay the night and she said yes She could see how hurt I was and she suggested a taxi to Astorga and called one for us, the taxi company called back and said they could not come. The sever contacted her boss ( Albergue Owner) who said he would drive us to Astorga He said that we are pilgrims and that it was the least he could do for us. That kind kind man gave up the chance to fill two beds and feed meals for a day to two pilgrims and he would not accept at money for his good deeds. The next happening occurred in Trabadelo we were giving thanks to God in the little church when we discovered that someone had left their wallet in the church, we decided to wait at the church for one hour in the hope that the owner would return, within twenty minutes a pilgrim on a bike came and claimed his wallet. He told us it contained all his money and credit cards. Thanks to God for his kindness in allowing us to be able to give back. We would like to share one more thing even though there as many.Thank you for the delight of seeing the look on the pilgrim faces they walked into Santiago. Ian and Helen.

My wife has a pacemaker and found it very difficult to carry a backpack last year because of rubbing/pressure on the device. It sounds like this wasn't an issue for you and wonder if you have any suggestions for this?

My wife used Mole plaster, which she bought in a roll and cut it into pieces a little bigger than my implant. then covered the implant each day. Also she moved the chest strap on my back pack lower than normal,so that the strap would not rub. Hope this helps. Ian and Helen.
