Ourense to SDC in March- any pilgrims?

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning March '24
I'm currently planning on walking Ourense to Santiago in just over a week and while I prefer to avoid crowds, now worried I won't see any pilgrims during my 5 day walk- it seems like from prior years folks are either earlier on in the VdLP at this time or won't be walking until later in the Spring. It's my first camino although have done long walks elsewhere, and am just wondering if I quickly try to find a different route just to avoid being completely alone in the albergues every night? In Ireland I did the Kerry Way and saw anywhere from 2-6 people per day, and that was wonderful. Any thoughts appreciated.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

enjoy your walk, I am walking the same route in April...from what I am told it is unlikely that you will be alone in the albergues, it has become a popular last stage in recent times...Buen Camino..!

Bretteries, I'd invite you to go read today's post by good_old_shoes over in the thread, The Camino Will Provide.

You may not get what you want...but stay open, and you'll get what you need.

Buen Camino.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Remember you will get people joining in from A Laxe from the Invierno so that adds more people for the last 2-3 days.

An Irish friend of mine is currently walking that route and he tells me he has seen very few pilgrims. Of course, that might change as Spring approaches? Buen Camino. 🚶‍♂️

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

We are on The Vdlp atm in Zamora 7-9 people per day and all hitting the Sanabres route. You won’t be alone!
