Oviedo to Astorga & Ponferrada to Oviedo

Hi, I only have a few days to spend on the Camino and had hoped to walk between Astorga and Ponferrada, and maybe fit in a visit to Las Medulas.

We would be arriving into Oviedo airport on a Wednesday around 4pm, and trying to get to Astorga for the night before setting off walking in the morning. Then returning from Ponferrada to Oviedo airport on Sunday morning. What are the best options for transfers on these days?

Are there tours from Ponferrada to Las Medulas or transfers available between the two?

Looks like it would be possible to go from Asturias airport to Astorga by ALSA bus - provided your arrival at the airport is not too delayed. And there are a couple of options back from Ponferrada to the airport on Sunday but not very early.

It is feasible to walk from Astorga to Ponferrade in 2 days. There are stretch that are in the mountains, as the Bierzo is an area with many changes in denivelation. Providing that you start out of Astorga on Thursday morning, you could be in Ponferrada by Friday afternoon. That would give you sometime in Ponferrada to visit the Castle and the area around it before taking a bus back to Oviedo.
