Time of past OR future Camino
I intend to leave the UK the day Before Brexit and walkMarch -April 2019 Camino Frances
I have read hundreds of packing lists, comparing boots to shoes, waterproofs to poncho, sleeping bag vs liner. poles or no poles thick socks or thon socks.
One thing no one hasever mentioned the need to bring salt pepper and hot sauce.
The people who cook the pilgrims menu must have trained by the military where they smother everything in Bland Powder.
Only in one restaurant have i seen salt and pepper, strangely enough the pork cutlet was a real pork chop.

I always bring a tiny salt and pepper cellar, only I have a salt and spice mix in one end and pimenton in the other. It really is small, like half my index finger, and of course infinitely refillable in case I should change my mind about what I want to bring. Highly recommended!

I bring a mini plastic bottle of Tabasco with me on every camino to pep up boring tortillas and also for cooking spicy pasta!

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Likely not on packing lists as it falls into 'want' not 'need'. But it's an excellent addition.

On my upcoming Camino, I'm going beyond salt/pepper/hotsauce - I'll actually be carrying all the spices necessary to complete the meals in my just published Vegan cookbook for Peregrinos. Let's just say I can only take so many papas fritas before I need something less starchy.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

I tend to end up cooking for several pilgrims - usually a veggie chilli and I will be taking chilli powder this year as it’s a devil to find in Spain oddly
