Hello,
I’ll be leaving Bercianos tomorrow, and I’m thinking of stopping in Reliegos. I’d like to know if anyone has stayed there and has a recommendation for a clean place to stay.
Any thoughts?
Thank you!!!

It is an easy 6km downhill walk from bleak Reliegos to Mansilla de las Mulas where the municipal albergue is great! See more here--https://www.gronze.com/castilla-y-leon/leon/mansilla-mulas/albergue-peregrinos-mansilla-mulas

At Mansilla de las Mulas in the municipal albergue a special hospitalera, Laura, has served for many years; now she and her father manage the place together. Over time much space has been re-purposed; what was a shower is storage, new showers are now on the patio and a tiny entry level dorm has become the supplementary dining area. Many potted plants brighten the interior and electric heaters provide warmth in cold nights. Most pilgrims cook and congregate in the comfortable kitchen where Laura offers a multitude of advice on shops, routes or blister care, etc. She greets each pilgrim personally and always gives me a big hug remembering my name and many happy earlier visits....Do try to stay there!

Last year we stayed in Reliegos in June,
The stamp says Vive Tu Camino Albergue. PH 987317837. Calle Real, 56 bajo, 24339 reliegos.
I cant remember the price, but it was nice and clean with good bathrooms, and they were friendly. There is a small shop just up the road. We had almost the whole dormitory to ourselves.
Walked the next morning to Mansilla de las Mulas for breakfast.

I stayed at Piedras Blancas 2, the very first albergue as you walk into the village. Very nice. I was in a room for six -- all single beds, no bunks!! The food was good and the owners were really nice.

I agree with @mspath, Reliegos is pretty bleak. But if you don't feel like you could walk another step, and that's how I felt, who cares? But if you're up for contining on, Mansilla de Las Mulas looked much more interesting.

The stamp from my credential in Reliegos (2016) suggests I stayed in Albergue Piedras Blancas 2. In my emails home, the closest I have to a journal from the trip, I had no complaints. I can say that the dinner options in the pilgrim's meal went beyond the same old same old that you typically see. I can't really compare it to the other albergues, though.

I'm at Reliegos now, in albergue Vive Tu Camino. Nice one. But the town itself isn't very alive..
That Elvis bar looks cool, but was closed yesterday.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
We were knackered by the time we got to Reliegos, I dont think I would have cared where I stayed. My only recollections of the place were sitting out in their garden with a cold drink, with the Siamese cat that came over from the neighbour.

Can’t remember the name, but we stayed at the albergue that offers s communal vegetarian meal and a dedicated space for meditation/yoga. It was very clean and dinner was fantastic (even for this meat-eater!). Just past the meteorite site below the Elvis bar (which is worth a visit). I found Reliegos to be quite beautiful actually - I guess to each his own

Agree - we stayed there last year and meal was great. Dorm new and very clean. Albergue de Ada I think

Last year I also stayed at Albergue de Ada. It was spotless! And the vegetarian meal cooked by the host was delicious (I'm not a vegetarian). I would definitely stay there again.

Yes, we enjoyed our stay in Albergue de Ada too. I remember that the place had a significant Roma population, and there seemed to be a level of poverty that I hadn't noticed in other places , but it was interesting to walk around. I liked seeing the appearance of the mountains on the horizon. Also the local bar was decent, as was the vegetarian meal at the albergue.

Not every night has to be in a quaint albergue in a picture perfect town... Perhaps a night in the “bleak” (other folks’ description, not mine) hamlet of Reliegos is just the “AHA!” moment you are seeking on the Camino. My wife just said it was one of her fondest memories and we actually made great memories with two Camino friends there...
