Hello all fellow pilgrims!
To celebrate my 70th birthday I'll be following the Frances path from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela. Really excited abut the journey for me starting August 28, 2024.
I'm flying from Phoenix into Madrid Airport connecting to Pamplona Airport arriving on Monday August 26th.
1. I'll be looking for anyone interested in ride sharing from Pamplona to SJPDP either later on Aug 26 or before noon on August 27.
2. I'll be contacting the Phoenix Catholic Diocese to see if they can help me connect with any Arizonans who happen to be doing the Camino around that time. I'm planning a solo event but nice to know if there are others who will be going to Madrid on their way to SJPDP.
3. Buen Camino!!!!!!!!!

Thanks all!
Jim

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
On the positive side, being from Arizona you’ll be the only pilgrim out there saying, “wow, it’s not so hot out here!”

Buen Camino.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Please make a separate post with the "ride share" prefix in the Camino Francés forum:

And as @David Tallan said, contact your local chapter of American Pilgrims. The Valley of the Sun chapter is very active. They will have much better information on locals who will be on the Camino than the Catholic Diocese.

I was celebrating my 85th on the Camino until a biker knocked me down on the trail and I had to return to US for treatment. Good luck. It is fabulous. You will make a LOT of new friends. No need to go with anybody at all.

Take the bus in Pamplona to St Jean. It is cheap and very nice. Get your ticket ahead of travel day. Bus goes one a day and can be full without advance ticket purchase.

Jim, I hope you have a good Camino. My wife and I are going to do the Portugues route in September.. We are also from the Phoenix area (Sun City). She will celebrate her 68th birthday in Fatima before we head out on the Camino. We did 200 miles of Camino Frances 9 years ago.
