Pilgrim badge gift :-)

Time of past OR future Camino
Ponferrada-SdC 2017
SJPdP-SdC 2022
Porto-SdC 2023
Just wanted to share this picture of my badge (next to the backpack's logo).
A colleague bought one for me and my camino companion (also a colleague: started as a friend but we keep working together, can't escape her...!) when he heard we were preparing to walk. A wonderful act of spontaneous kindness that means the badge is accompanying every preparatory walk I make, including the cloud shrouded summit of Pen-y-Fan yesterday morning. He knows the fella who makes them from historical examples, the original of this is C14th/C15th from London, and that's very apt as we're all archaeologists.
It's lead-free pewter and features St James as a pilgrim on a scallop shell.
Love it!

I do not always carry a shell on my rucksack these days but I do have a small pewter shell on my hat. When I am on a pilgrimage I never feel properly dressed without a hat and a stick - a sort of uniform for me and I think my shell is not all that different from my old Army cap badge :)

@Nanc I live in the UK and bought mine from an Ebay supplier some years ago. I've forgotten the seller's details but this looks pretty much identical to mine. It is fixed by two pins which plug into spring retainer clips on the reverse side. Like very large earring clips.
