Pilgrim office statistics page - new format and filter tools

Bradypus

Migratory hermit
Time of past OR future Camino
Too many and too often!
A note for the terminally nerdy like myself. I just went to the pilgrim office website to look up some figures from 2019 and discovered that the statistics pages have been radically redesigned. A new format and many new search filters. Including running totals to date for the year.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Thanks, @Bradypus!

Makes it so much easier to follow the growth on the Invierno. In 2020, 400 got compostelas, but that was covid, so probably not too statistically significant. In 2021, 900 got compostelas for the Invierno. In 2022, it was up to 2300.

Thanks. Always fascinating.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

This finally allows us to asked more nuanced questions. For example, where do most Spaniards start walking?

Of the 236,605 Spaniards that received compostelas, roughly half walked 100km.

Contrast that to the rest of the nationalities registered and you have 199,000 pilgrims of whom about 43,000 walked 100km.

Also:
Americans really don't like walking in August.

Edited to add that Pilgrims on the Camino Portugués favor Porto over Lisbon as a starting point by more than 10:1.

That's why I tend to think of Porto as the SJPdP of the Camino Portugues (with Lisbon being the equivalent of Le Puy, or Vezelay, or Paris).
Looking at last year's figures Porto and SJPDP are very close in popularity as starting points. As are Lisbon and Le Puy. I must admit it surprised me to see the second pair being so similar in numbers. Somehow I'd imagined Lisbon as being more popular.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I don’t see myself as particularly IT challenged when it comes to the use of websites but this thing on an iPad - sheesh. Who designs this stuff. I flee to my desktop when I want to check some data or make some comparison or other. Am I the only one with this kind of user experience?

It is a pain in the posterior to use on my Android mobile phone. It does work but resizing and scrolling about the screen isn't all that easy. But it is pretty good on my Windows 10 laptop.
