Hello! Does anyone know if the cathedral in Vigo is open on Saturday, able to be issuing pilgrim passport booklets? I emailed the diocese office a couple weeks ago but no reply…. Thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Opening hours of Concatedral - Basílica de Santa María de Vigo, Saturday - 9:30 am–1 pm, 6–8:30 pm

Dunno if they issue Credencial

I could not even find the stamp at the Cathedral although I know it was there somewhere.... Was glad I ordered my credential from IVAR.

Retrieving the old thread. Does anyone know where can I get the Pilgrim Passport in Vigo? I emailed the hostel and they don't have it. I also emailed the tourist office in Vigo but received no reply.

That would be the easiest, but I don't have time to wait for the passport in mail. I am arriving in Vigo this Saturday. Would it be possible to pick it up at one of the churches in Vigo? Does anyone know for sure?

I never tried to get a credencials book in Spain, although I know that the cathedral in Porto has them. But my wife and I did spend a good hour or so in Vigo trying to get a church to stamp our credencials book in 2018. We tried two: Maria Auxliadora and Santiago de Vigo. At the first, we found the doors open but could not locate a priest or other employee inside. So, on to Santiago de Vigo where, as I wrote at the time, we found "a young priest wearing glasses who asked if we were peregrinos. Receiving our affirmative reply, he took our credencials books with him into a back office and stamped them, handing them back with a smile. We thanked him effusively."
So, my thought is, if you can locate a priest who is willing to provide sellos, he may also have access to a few credencials books lying around. And the church of St. James is the obvious place to start.
