Pilgrim's office in Santiago - do I really need to pre-register?

Time of past OR future Camino
Burgos-Santiago May 2023
Hi, planning to finish CF on 24 May. I don't want a Compostela, just a last stamp on my Credencial. From checking the website I don't understand if I NEED to pre-register online or if it will just be easier if I do. Many thanks for any help anyone can provide.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
If you just want a stamp - you can get just a stamp. But - if you just want a stamp from somewhere in Santiago - to show you arrived - that is possible too. I got a stamp from the Pilgrim's Office - but also got a stamp at my albergue in Santiago. In the future - if I don't want a Compostela - I will just get a stamp somewhere in Santiago.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

The credential is meant to gather stamps. And to get access to albergues.
I think that you do not want a Compostela certificate.

No problem to get a stamp only at the Pilgrims Office.
only arriving on 24th of May I am afraid you have to stay in line for a while and anyway explain the security in front of the door that you want a stamp only.
you need a ticket to go to one of windows at the office counter ,mentioned on the ticket so maybe the security points you to one of the registration computers inside the building and you still registrate. There is changed a lot since last year when I was volunteer at the Pilgrims Office.

Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
If you’re walking the Camino Portugues right now I’d recommend you avoid the complementario route into Pontevedra. While it is quiet and green and follows the river, it’s also a muddy mess. I...
