Hi, all, thanks to a tip from a forum member, I've done some searching and have come up with the news that there is indeed a new albergue in Agueda. The public one was closed more than a year ago, I think, but the Albergue Peregrinos de Agueda, a private albergue, shows all signs of being up and running! Has anyone actually stayed there?

When I walked this Caminho, I stayed at the Pensao Ribeirinho in Agueda, upstairs from the in-town (and very popular) restaurant of the same name. Then a while back, someone reported that it had closed. But just recently I read that it was very much open again.
So, what I think this means is that there are now three options in Agueda:
Private albergue (not sure where it is, though)
Private Residencial/Pensao Ribeirinho (when you cross the bridge into town, turn right, you'll see the parking lot in front of you)
Private Residencial Celeste (up the hill and 3 km away, but very close to the caminho for the next days walk, and very highly recommended)
Any details on phone numbers, locations, etc, would be appreciated for the end of year updates to the online CSJ guide. Muito obrigada! Laurie
