I'm planning to leave from Vancouver, Canada at the last week of July to walk the two weeks Porto to Santiago. I'm not sure if I should book a flight and land in Madrid then take a train to Porto, Portugal. Or have a direct flight to Porto. What would be the best way????
Trying to get from Madrid to Porto by train is tedious. As I recall, you'd have to take an overnight train from Madrid towards Lisbon, and then change to another train in Portugal somewhere before Lisbon. Also I looked at busses, but they were even more tedious. I finally just took a flight from Madrid to Porto. I love taking trains and busses when I can, but sometimes it just gets too difficult.
You will enjoy the Camino Portuguese. It was my first Camino and I LOVED it.
Greetings to all.
