It looks like you have to take a taxi to Lobases and from there to Coimbra can take a bus that runs hourly. Or taxi all the way. This site says it would not be more than 25€:

Hope this helps.

there is a chap in the village Rabacal that used to work in germany - and he had offered to ferry - via his car - pilgrims to Coimbra for a modest fee.
we came across him @ the Cafe Bonita. perhaps you could enquire there.
Bom Caminho-

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

My husband took a bus from Rabanal to Coimbra a few years ago. It is probably still operating, as the buses in the countryside in Portugal cater for school children and workers: early in the morning to get to school / work in the cities, and later in the day to get back home.

Thank you, I will investigate at the. Bus station when I get to Rabacal

Hi, there is no bus station in Rabacal. It is a small village. There is a bus stop not far from the museum. If there is no schedule at the stop, the people in the museum, or the residencial next door, will know the bus times.

Fellow pilgrims thank you for all your information. The spirit was with us yesterday☺️ we walked to Rabacal, and felt we could go on to Conimbriga. Thinking there were a couple of cafes along the way. No such luck❗️ we dragged our way up and down the undulating walk, which would have been tedious if not for the lovely walk bird song and butterflies. On the outskirts of Conimbriga, we saw a sigh for a NEW ALBERGUE and agreed we would stop there instead of going off route to the ones in the book. The Albergue was an extremely pleasant surprise. It had been opened for 2.5 months. Albergue de Conimbriga. The Albergue was open the owner came by later the evening and greeted us with a plate of fruit, a lift to the grocery and we are getting a lift to Coimbra with he husband who works there. What a wonderful day.

That is fabulous news! That area, next to the ruins, has always been a problem for accommodation. So glad you had a great day, and thank you so much for the feedback.
