They say the Camino is yours

To be done your way

There's no 'one size fits all'

No one to dictate..

They say it's an experience

A walk that's only your own

And whether you're solo

Or one in a group

You're actually alone..

You have your reasons

Conviction or fun

What moves you is your rhythm

In the rain and the sun..

Through the lavender bushes

Woody avenues and lanes

passing towns and villages

And you're never the same..

The mornings filled with promise

Spring in your step and a smile

The sun racing high overhead

Rucksack getting heavier with each mile..

Companions on the road

As varied as they come

'Buen Camino'

Falling behind, giving way to some..

Resting houses along the way

Albergues and pensions

Quaint peaceful busy abodes

Recharge and move on…

Trail marked iconic milestones

The shell and the yellow arrow

Each step, one step closer

Santiago on the morrow..

Your Camino, your walk

And your cross to bear

Your thoughts race on

Your life's journey

Accompanied wear and tear..

The eyes may blur,

and the tears may fall

They're not stopping today

So you sit down for a while

Maybe this mood will go away..

The black clouds burst

Inside and out

And you're left wondering

What is this race all about?

Last bit of strength

Last bit of the stretch

Gotta face those voices

Get 'em out of your head today…

And this has to be finished today

Tomorrow may not come

Or it may, but you might not have it in you

To face the road, the rain and the sun..

Camino de Santiago

Your walk, your life on your own

But in the ups and downs

The tears and triumphs

Jesus walks with you

You'll never walk alone…

Just very lovely. Thank you. I felt those feelings, too, but not in such beautiful words. Muchas gracias, Lisa. Buen Camino!
