Hi all,

Does anyone know if/where we can get ponchos in Leon? I'll be in Leon 12th-15th April 2019, setting out from there to Santiago with my parents.

I already have an Altus Poncho, and my mum and dad need one each. We're finding it hard to locate adequate, full-sleeved ponchos which will accommodate backpacks in Australia, so hoping we can find some in Leon. We'd really appreciate any leads.

Thankyou :)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I bought an Altus poncho type rain jacket at the Deportes-Tienda del peregrino on Calle la Rua (the big green sign over the entrance actually says Armeria Castro because I think it's part of the gunshop across the way). If you look at the street view on Google maps you'll see a mannequin at the entrance to the shop with a rain jacket on. This is the type of poncho/jacket with the big hump at the back that goes over your backpack. Stopped me from almost melting in the rain in 2015. Calle la Rua is on the Camino route through Leon. Hope this helps.

Yes i see the poncho in the window of deportes tienda - perfect. Thanks heaps - maybe we will try our luck over there.
