We will finish our Pamplona to Burgos hike on May 30. We will then have about 5 days of free time before visiting friends in Marbella.

Last year we went to Barcelona (from Pamplona) and enjoyed it greatly. We have visited Madrid several times. Also fabulous. But this year we want to explore a little bit more of Spain. Cordoba and Sevilla are in the direction of our travel as we head towards Marbella. Would forum members recommend one or the other? And how many days for a visit to either?

Muchas gracias.

Tom

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
You could spend a month in either Cordoba or Sevilla.

Why not spend your week in Burgos? Lots of stuff there too.

Yes! , I would spend a week in Viana and hop to Logrono for an outing.
Having said that I really enjoy Malaga - been there half a dozen times and that would be only a bus ride to Marbella?

Hi Tom. I think that five days in CĂłrdoba would be a lot. The mosque is spectacular and there are lots of pretty flower-filled patios on narrow streets but that's about it. The city of Sevilla is IMO much more interesting. Five days will give you a good chance to see the main sites. Moorish palace, Giralda, cathedral, gorgeous parks. Municipal bike share and lots of great places to eat. As between those two, i would say spend all your days relaxing in Sevilla. Buen camino, Laurie.

Granada is awesome too. The Alhambra is amazing! So wherever you decide to go you will have plenty to see. Enjoy!

I spent 3 weeks in Andalusia last May. 5 days in Sevilla, 5 days in Nerja, 4 in Granada, 3 in Cordoba. 3 in Madrid. I was not impressed with Cordoba. We like the Cathedral and enjoyed the fair but there was really nothing else. Loved Sevilla (the food was great), Loved Nerja (Beach front apartment that I didn't want to leave). Granada was magical. We had an apartment that had a closeup view of the Alhambra from the wall to wall glass door in the bedroom. Food was good and cheap. Free tapas everywhere.

I'd recommend staying in an apartment near the Cathedral. You can walk everywhere from there. Our little apartment was in a 17th century house that had been turned into individual apartments. Have fun!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
