Lying in the Roncevalles hotel, awake since 4am, listening to the rain. It was wet and slippery coming over from SJPdP yesterday, especially the really steep downhill part. A very nice walk and not as hellish as some descriptions.
It will be a wet walk today....and we are very glad we got Altus ponchos and poles in SJPdP!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I think many of us would change sunny day at home for rainy one on the Camino in a second. Me - for sure, without thinking!

Ultreia!, Canuck :)

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
Today was "misting". Put the poncho on for a while and then off for most and even had direct sun for a few minutes. It isn't a big deal and, frankly, is better weather than if it was smoking hot. A comfortable way to walk. Now, if I only wouldn't have killed my knee on the last 3.5 km down to Roncesvalles!!
Today was tough on the slightest downhill section.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Not to gloat, but I'm glad I did decide to do my Camino in August. In my 33 days I didn't experience a single drop of rain and the walk over the Pyrenees was absolutely glorious.

Having said that, I live in southern British Columbia (a rain forest) and have grown to appreciate rain. There is beauty and benefit in all types of weather, rain included, as long as you are prepared.

Enjoy the rest of your Camino!

We are also from the southern BC area, in the central Okanagan. I agree that if you are prepared, it's no big deal.

Glad to hear that the Altus Poncho is working for you. I believe that is what I will use to carry in my pack and hopefully never have to take out.....But I will have it if need be!!!!

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Question, are any of you wearing non waterproof boots? Canuck I know you aren't! I feel like its too late for me to break in new shoes at this point since I leave in a week.... But debating.

Yes, we are both wearing gortex hiking boots, well broken in. Seeing tons of foot problems with other people. My wife has her Morton's toe jamming on the steep downhill and my right knee is bad on those sections. Neither have to do with the boots and , while she has a blister, it is fine but we have kept totally dry in the boots.
There is zero way I would do it in non-waterproof shoes or boots. YMMV
