After Requejo, you pass thru a little town, Padornelo and then by a gas station with a bar. You follow N-525 for a short way and then come to a turn off to the right, leading to Aciberos. There are several large, classic Camino signs pointing to down that turn off to the right. @geraldkelly points you that way. Gronze takes you that way. Every source shows that route except @wisepilgrim, who says that detour is the old route and you shouldn't turn off, that it is the "old" Camino. WisePilgrim says the "new" Camino continues straight on the highway for a short bit and then turns left down a grassy pathway. So that is what we did (what we are doing right now.)
It is a beautiful route on trails and country roads, across rivers... and I'm really glad we took it. If we weren't following WP's map, we never would have followed this route and would wonder the whole time if we were lost. In some places it looks like no one has ever walked there. How did you know about this route @wisepilgrim when everyone else directs one to the right through Aciberos? :)

I remember going through a tunnel under the road to get on to a scenic path to Lubian. Is this the same route?

I think there have been several reroutings in that area, all having to do with the construction of AVE. I don’t know about old and new routes, but when I first walked the Sanabrés ( 2013??) I went through the place you are describing, I’m sure. It was just magical. I commented about it on the forum over the years. So my guess is that the original route was reinstated after the AVE was finished, making it the “new” route, but really just the reinstatement of the original route.

That may not make any sense, but the good take away is that the beautiful pathway is still there!
