Time of past OR future Camino
French route 2018
Hello All... I can't believe I'm finally getting to walk the Camino :) I am making all the plans and I have a question. Do you need to make reservations to the hostels or hotels before I go and if so how much before should I reserve? I will be going May of 2018. Thanks for any input.. Jodi

Some people do and some people don't ;-) It is a bit early to even to guess how busy it will be May 2018. I would suggest that you book the accommodation for the first 1-2 days simply to take the stress out after traveling to the Camino and getting used to things and then just see how it goes. Buen Camino, SY

I would agree with SYates. Personally I find reservations place you on a "have to " pace which can distract from "where you are". But again if you are the type of
traveler who likes to know where they are going and where they will sleep than by all means reserve. On our first Camino we got caught up in the "bedrace " chatter on the second we realized we would never go without a place to stay as long as we walked as a pilgrim and let The Camino provide and accept what it did.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Thank you for the info.. I know it's a little early... There will be 2 of us walking the whole route but we have others that don't have as much time that will be meeting us along the way so we are trying to work out the locations.. :)
