Hi,
I was flipping through my photos and saw one with the best salad I had on the whole camino and remembered that I never found out the name of the restaurant in Viana when I wrote my blog. Today I took a look at my GPS log from that stretch and saw that I was sitting down for a long time at Calle Abajo de San Pedro in Viana, quite near Calle Conde San Cristobal (I walked down that street from the cathedral square). The bar is owned by a man who had walked the camino and on one of the walls he has a huge photo of the forest around Roncevalles. The staff in really friendly and the food good. So if you pass Viana I can recommend to go down there and see if they still are there. I was there in mid August 2013 and they had opened 2 weeks earlier.
Unfortunately Google Streetmap from that street is from 2009 so it didn't help me.
