Safe Camping and private rooms

I did Frances last June and never really booked ahead. Just called places around lunch time to check on private rooms or the possibility to camp in the hostels yard.
I was wondering if the coastal way in Portugal is about the same.
I saw there are many camp grounds near the coast. If anyone stayed there I would love to know how safe you felt. On the Frances the few camp grounds I saw seemed quite empty and not frequent by hikers and tents.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
We stayed at the campground past Matachinos last May. The campground was well attended and we did not have any security concerns at all, which could be said for the rest of our camino as well. On the caminos, it is the genuine helpfulness and niceness of people which makes the caminos a special experience for me, so I would say, take normal care with your stuff and enjoy your camino.

I'm starting from Porto on April 5th and hoping to camp as much as possible (mainly to avoid snorers and early risers). I have located at least 4 or 5 camping grounds on the Coastal and a couple have stated welcoming Peregrinos in the past.
So here is hoping

That sounds awesome! If you don’t mind I might ask you about it later in April. The camp grounds on the Frances had hardly and tents or pilgrims so I did not feel save between anonymous vans and mobile houses. But I really can’t stay the snoring ;)

Hello David, My son and I are planning to camp along the coastal route in June. Do you have the names of the campsites you stayed in please?
