I will be arriving in Madrid Sunday morning and taking a bus directly from the airport to Salamanca. I've looked at the maps but I'm not sure which bus station we will be arriving. We are staying in the old town and trying to figure out how far it is. Not sure whether to try to walk with jet lag or take a taxi. I know someone on here knows about how far it might be? Thanks!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Where are you staying? The main bus station is at Ave Filiberto Villalobos and Calle Pena de Francia. If you go to Google Maps and put in Estacion de Autobuses de Salamanca and ask for directions to your hotel, it will show you how far it will be or tell us where you are staying and I will try to look it up for you.

Thanks. I did look it up on google maps but I wasn't sure about which bus station we would arrive. It was pretty straight forward & only said about 16 minutes. We are staying at Hospedium Plaza Mayor.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Yup 1.3 km. Looks like you can catch City Bus #4 and ride down to Plaza Mayor or at least close to it?

You get off bus #4 at the corner of Villalobos and where it turns onto the N-630 across from the Campo de San Francisco park. Looks like you have to walk from there to Plaza Mayor.

Thanks - looks pretty simple.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The main bus station is about 20 mins walk from the old town. An easy walk if you don’t have much luggage.

We got here today & yes, the Plaza Mayor is only 15 - 20 minutes walking from the bus station. The hotel doesn’t just jump out at you but we finally found it. Thanks for your input!
