In round figures, 750 down, 550 to go. I passed the half way mark two days ago.

The Via de la Plata is quite different from the Camino Mozarabe. For a start there are other pilgrims! Waymarking has been very good as have Albergues. You can manage without a guide book, just using maps from the local tourist info offices. Local people seem to be more aware of the pilgrimage and it isn't too unusual to get a 'buen Camino' from a passer-by.

Got to get a cold one now.

HI AJ,
You make it sound SO appealing! I'm beginning to think I want to walk all of the Caminos. I love Salamanca and imagine it is great to be a Pilgrim there. Best of luck,

Ultreia!
