San Juan de Ortega food chioce

Hi guys just wanted to confirm something
3 years ago stopped at San Juan and had a great local meal
This Year stayed at Ages and was informed that they could not get a decent meal at San Juan
Is that true?

I, too, often ate in San Juan Ortega at the simple Bar Marcela and had good hearty food. Unfortunately the Bar Marcela which is located after the monastery complex could be quickly walked past by unobservant hurrying pilgrims. Hi Scott,
7 of us had dinner at the bar in San Juan a couple of nights ago and the food was delicious.

... and if you read "The Great Westward Walk," you'll see the locals gather round the finest morcilla at a little bar in Quintanilla, a four-house town near Cardenuela de Riopico (a little off the marked camino after Sto. Domingo.)

...on a freezing cold and rainy day, the bar warm and steamy, at San Juan. Unforgettable. I agree, best morcilla.
