Hi I'm doing the last stage from sarria to Santiago on sept 4,any tips, thanks

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I to have just walked from Sarria to Santiago. Apart from giving birth to my 4 children , this was an amazing trip. I went onto Barcelona for 5 days after and felt a little flat. I think this was because the Camino is so special. You can read so much before you go, but unless you have travelled The Way you don't really know what is ahead till you walk that path. For me I liked the feeling of being unknown. I went for the fitness aspect, as well as reading other peoples wonderful experiences. Everyone is on their own journey. Sometimes you walk alone, sometimes you walk with others. Sometimes you talk, sometimes you don't. The food, people, culture, scenery and serenity are all a wonderful contribution to the Camino. I did the Camino with my 18 year old , this was her 18th present. The best she could have had for many reasons. I cant wait to return to finish. I wish you all the best, its the best.

Buen Camino

Falcon,

My wife is joining me in Sarria and will probably, because of her back, have Xacotrans take care of "slackpacking"! Does that require having a reservation at the albergue we intend to reach each day?

Yes, you do need to have a forward reservation made. It's advisable to do it anyway on the busy route from Sarria to SdC, but particularly when you've luggage involved.

Muchas gracias. One more thing to do!

Indyinmaine,

Generally only private pilgrim albergues and, of course, hotels take reservations. Many private albergues have grouped together into a network , the Red Albergues de Santiago. Here is their web >> http://www.redalberguessantiago.com/. To see photos and net addresses for those located in Sarria and west click the provinces Lugo and La Corona under the heading Albergues on the right side of the home page.

Happy planning and Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith
