Hi, I'm thinking of doing part of the Camino at Christmas. I don't want a long flight and I want to walk for 5 days. If anyone has advice as to where to start from and which airport to fly in and out of I'll appreciate it. Thanks

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

flying from London to Coruna (A Coruna depending on airline) gets you to a short bus ride to Ferrol and a five day walk on the Camino Ingles. The Xunta Albergues are officially open, but 'phone ahead to let them know your coming during the christmas period. From Santiago it's a quickish bus ride back to Coruna (or A Coruna depending on the bus company). You could be home for New Year.

Practicalities dealt with. Why? What's your experience of Camino? How are you going to be busking up a christmas dinner out of two tins of tuna and some pasta?

Happy planning

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You say 'part of the Camino' - do you have a specific Camino in mind?
If that's just a figure of speech you could consider walking an entire camino in that time frame. The Inglès - rather appropriate considering where you're coming from.
It's just 120 km long, easily done in four to five days if you're moderately fit. Fly directly into Santiago, taxi or bus to the central bus station, take the bus to Ferrol. (In summer there's several each day, although you might want to check the schedule in case there are less in winter). Spend the rest of the day exploring - it's a lovely little town - and start walking the next morning. Or if the flights are better fly into A Corona, and take the bus from there to Ferrol.
5 days walking will get you into Santiago.
Wherever you choose to walk, Buen Camino!
