Time of past OR future Camino
April 2023
We will be doing our first Comino walk during the Semana Santa period this year. Looking forward to it. However I can't seem to find much information online on the events during this period especially procession days and time. Can someone please share if they know for example Good Friday, Holy Sat and Easter Sunday when and where?

Also as this will be our first time to Santiago, can someone also please share the must do and see in Santiago?

Thanks

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Every village will have its own processions with the largest ones being in the largest cities.
I suggest you get on the Tourist Info sites for each village where you're staying those days and ask there.
They generally print a schedule.

Indeed, each town has their own celebrations that last 8-9 days. I was in Burgos the Sunday before Easter and it was a wonderful experience. Sahagun on Good Friday was a real treat and Leon's Easter Sunday celbration was truly inspiring! The processiosn lasted the entire day as they travelled through the parishes.

Exactly what part of the trail do you expect to be at during that week?

Jay...the wife and I found the rooftop tour of the cathedral particularly enjoyable, and we also like markets - so an hour or two at Mercado de Abastos, in the old town, is worth it. A really nice vibe to Santiago de Compostela and just wandering the streets seems to always lead us to another interesting spot.
