Roughly how much should I expect to spend shipping a backpack w/ just some clothes from St. Jean Pied to Ivar's? I know this is hard to predict w/o knowing the weight, but just want to have some idea.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Shipping from France to Spain is quite expensive. Better if you can keep it entirely within Spain. But the first real post office along the Camino in Spain is in Pamplona if memory serves me correctly. I expect shipping from France will put you north of 40 euros.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I'm not sure if Express Burricot will ship to Ivar directly. When I inquired, they said they will ship to a hotel in Santiago.

Another option is to use Express Burricot to ship to Roncesvalles (8 euros), then use Correos to ship to Ivar (< 28 euros). This was for a suitcase weighing approx 50-lbs.

I was able to use Correos from Roncesvalles. < 28 euros for a 50-lb suitcase.

Here's the relevant Correos link.

- Suitcases or parcels up to 15 kg: 17.97 Euros (including VAT)
- Suitcases or parcels up to 25 kg: 26.60 Euros (including VAT)

I was able to ship from Roncesvalles to Ivar. The hotel receptionist called Correos and they just asked me to put the money in a Correos envelope and attach the envelope to the suitcase. Correos picked it up from the hotel and Ivar confirmed receipt of package after a week or so.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
