Starting the Camino from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, looking to buy light weight sleeping bag and anti bedbug spray is this available at Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port? Thanks

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
The Shops in St Jean are quite small Chris, so you won't have much in the way of choice. That's why people generally research and buy gear at home.

Thanks. I was after a light weight sleeping bag. Trekking poles and anti bed bug spray. Starting next week. Hopefully I'll find them there

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The Maya Sport shop, on the flats in St. Jean, is a larger, more wide scope sporting goods shop than in the old town center. It is not a pilgrim-only or camino-centric sporting goods vendor. The other shops are, at least IMHO.

I have shopped there several times, but not in the past year or so. If anyone carries sleeping bags at SJPdP, Maya Sport will. It is worth the 15 minute walk.

I hope this helps.

Suggest you check when the shop on the Rue de Citadelle closes for the year. I have volunteered twice in the Pilgrim's office in STPDP in October and know the shop closes for the winter. The other shop down near the big supermarket already mentioned by others is a large store and there are lots of other things for sale; the locals buy ammunition and there are lots of guns as it they are keen hunters. On the Route Napoleon you will see stone walls about 1 meter high and 2-3 m wide they use as hides when the pigeon shooting season is open.
Fascinating area.
