Time of past OR future Camino
I completed the El Camino Portugese, and planning to do the north.
Hi guys,
I'm going to the El Camino del Norte in August. Do you know any recommended hostel, guesthouse in Bilbao, near the way? And actually Do you know where can I got the fist stamp (Albergo, in a church or where?)
I ordered the guidebook, but it takes time to get it here, but I would like to book something not too far from the way.
Is it crowded in August? I did the portugal way some years ago during the summer, but there were just a few people.
Thanks in advance!

Hi mokasritus, I can recommend the Poshtel hostel, bookable by e.g. booking.com.
They offer bunkbeds in dorm rooms.
The hostel is situated within a walking distance to the Guggenheim museum (5 min.), where you can start the camino.
The neighbouring streets offer a big variety of tapas bars, where you might spend the first evening for dinner.

Your first stamp for the pilgrim's passport is usually availaible at your accomodation.

Buen camino

I stayed there also. It was a really nice and very well run. It is super close to the Guggenheim. Took my first rest day in Bilbao and wanted to see the museum. But when I went over there the next day I didn't realize it was Monday and EVERYTHING was closed!!! But I did get some great rest at the Hostel and as you say there is lots of good places to eat close by.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Thank you @Camineiro and @lt56ny. I'm booking this for the first night. And got to know maybe they will give me the stamps.:)
Is this way crowded in august? Maybe you have more info about it.
Is there dogs? Just because i'm scared from dogs and it is good to know. On the portugal way it was ok.

Thanks a lot!
