Start places with train stations?

Hi,

I'm planning on a shorter trip on the Camino for my first time, probably 50-75km along the French Way and ending at Santiago. My idea is to fly from the UK to Spain (into Barcelona?) then use trains to get to a start point. I don't want to fly to Santiago then get a train out to walk back in again.
Can anyone recommend me towns connected to public transport 50-75km out from Santiago along the French Way?

Thanks very much for any ideas

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

You can take a train to Madrid from Barcelona and then direct to Sarria or Ourense. That will be the closest train station but more than 100km out. Alternatively you could fly to A Coruna from the UK and walk from there it is slightly less than 100 km to Santiago and is one part of the Camino Ingles.

I would not fly to Barca either (although I love the city!). A Coruna seems to be the most logical place and being a short hop surely will be 'budget friendly' (I recall some Britts saying that if one catches RyanAir's proper sale its like 25-30GBP
then take it from there - explore all your options

Good luck & Buen Camino

If you do not want to fly to Santiago then perhaps A Coruña instead and train or bus from there to your starting point. Try
Unless your heart is set on the Camino Francés, you could fly into A Coruña and start walking from there on the Camino Inglés, which fits into your 50 - 75 km requirement.

Coming from the UK? Why not walk one of the English pilgrimage routes?
